Artist Statement
I do not make spaces.
Space is already happening.
My practice moves across architecture, sculpture, installation, dance, objects, and food,
not to produce forms,
but to operate on the conditions under which space emerges.
Since the twentieth century, art has shifted
from producing images and objects
to working on supports, systems, and the conditions of perception themselves.
My work carries this trajectory into the spatial field,
treating space not as an object but as a state.
I do not generate shapes.
I shift boundary conditions.
Objects become membranes.
Bodies become fields.
Actions update spatial states.
Rings, installations, dances, exhibitions, food —
each functions not as an object,
but as a device through which space becomes perceptible.
I do not open space.
I work with spaces that are already open.
私は空間をつくらない。
空間はすでに起きている。
私の実践は、建築、彫刻、インスタレーション、ダンス、プロダクト、食材といった
形式の境界を横断しながら、
空間が立ち上がる条件そのものを操作することにある。
20世紀美術は、
イメージや形態を制作することから、
支持体、制度、知覚の条件そのものを操作する実践へと移行してきた。
私の仕事は、その運動を空間の領域に引き受け、
物体ではなく、状態としての空間を扱う。
私は形を生産しない。
境界条件をずらす。
物は膜となり、
身体は場となり、
行為は空間の状態を更新する。
指輪、インスタレーション、ダンス、展示、食材──
それらはすべて作品であると同時に、
空間が知覚される条件を再編成するための装置である。
私は空間を開かない。
すでに開かれている空間とともに働く。
